Hi, Assalamualaikum.
It's been 5 months now since our wedding. It still feel surreal. My wedding was not that big or anak dato-like, it was just a very intimate event and I tried to spend little money for a one-day majlis (Nikah in the morning, reception in the evening). If you ask my family members, they will tell you that Im a cheapskate, sometimes minimalist and a very simple person. So I want to have a wedding with all that in mind hehe. And to be held at my house. Not in a hall or something.
I did not have a detailed checklist, no. But I did have a one-paper note and that was it lol.
PELAMIN
One thing for sure, I did not visualize what my pelamin will look like. I go through the money first instead. I know I wanted a pelamin that costs below my budget which is not over RM800 for two couples. In the end, I chose a very very simple one because I know the pelamin is just for the people to take pictures with us. Since I was little, I didnt want to bersanding sebab segan. So it's just nikah and makan beradab.
NIKAH ATTIRE
Being me, I know I dont want to push myself too much so I ditched the idea to rent or custom made our nikah attire. I just wanted everything to be simple! The utmost important is the smoothness of the event.
I've been eyeing to browse through boutiques and shops around Bangi for it. I think my then-fiance and I were sooooo tired walking around but it was fruitless so I decided to call my parents with the intention to tell them we're going to MGS Klang so I'll be home a bit late. But instead my father told us to just go to Jakel. Thus, to Jakel we went and we bought our nikah attire there. A light sparkled baju kurung and a matching baju melayu with free sampin and we're done!
RECEPTION ATTIRE
The decision to actually wear a proper reception attire came a bit late. Exactly 3 weeks before the event. The initial thought was to continue wearing the nikah attire (for the whole day). But it bounces around my mind for a month UNTIL I went to AEON Big near my house and I passed this boutique. They're having a Raya sale and all the baju were quite nice! And you guessed it, I found this cute and simple peplum dress with lace around the chest. And I just bought it. It's done haha.
For the groom's clothes, well, since my then-fiance worked through the week for 3 weeks, I told him I will help him buy his baju melayu for the reception (with matching color!). I went to Jakel at Jalan TAR (with the help of Shasha and Afiq). After a few hours and the hard work from the friendly staff, I finally found the matching colour! I feel like cryingggggg because it was just a week away before the nikah day lol.
EVERYTHING JAKEL!!
NIKAH AND RECEPTION MAKE-UP
I had problem with this. Initially, I already booked a MUA months earlier. So, it was done, I was supposed to wait for her on the big day. Or so I thought. Three weeks before my wedding, I contacted this person just to double confirm with her, because I heard nothing from her regarding the ETA, nor did she ask for the direction to my house. But when I did, she said she didnt take makeup job anymore and I didnt even know about it. Her excuse was, she already told all her clients about this and refund the money but somehow she missed me. Alhamdulillah, Allah gerakkan hati to asked her earlier.
So, on the same night I frantically search for a new MUA. I was worried because my nikah date was considered a hot date and I'm just anxious I might not be able to find one. Alhamdulillah I met this amazing MUA, very friendly and super easy to deal with (IG: @mua_emmaidrus). Booked her right away and little did I know, her house is just a few km away from mine lol and tak menyesal langsung, I really adore her makeup! My type of makeup, definitely! Long lasting makeup, The makeup tahan the whole day (the same makeup for reception. I just need to touch up a bit).
HAND BOUQUET AND VEIL
My mother was in charged with these items. Eventually she asked her friend (who happened to be my ex-teacher and the one who helped me make a wooden hantaran trays for my engagement) to come out with a pretty plastic flower hand bouquet and a horse hair veil. Overall, I'm satisfied, truly.
ETC
Photographer - My dear friends who happens to be husband and wife. They have their own photography business (IG: @tembakratarata).
Catering - My father took care of this. I don't know how but he managed to get a few discounts with the help of his friend lol. I think it was RM 16k (or was it 20k?) for 1500 guests including the khemah and whatnot.
Wedding Card Invitation - Again, my parents handled and decided the guests they wanted to invite lol so I just prepared the card. The design is mine but the one who made it into reality was also my dear childhood friend, Adora. God bless her with good skills of arts and softwares!
Again (uh), my father was in charge of sending the card for printing (to his friend, of course).
Hantaran - NO HANTARAN. Only mas kahwin.
DJ - Come one, we dont need DJ. We have our father's friends LOL. Seriously! They were sooooooo helpful I cant thank them enough.
And I was impressed with my neighbours who were willingly opened their gates so that all the extra side food stalls were able to tumpang in their compound. Wow.
I think that was it? Alhamdulillah for everything and Alhamdulillah it went well. Now lets embark into tougher journey called marriage.

#73 New Phase
Hi.
Now I can finally describe my life right now just like my blog title. 360 degree. My life has changed since I've become a wife. It's harder than I imagine to get yourself used to the new environment and new responsibilities. And it's tough, I must say for the first few months, it was not a smooth sailing. It still is. At least, for me. You first entered into marriage life thinking all the honeymoon phase and how romantic it would be for you and your partner. This is real life, and it's not like that all the time.
Talking to the elders, that's how marriage works. Sometimes there's rainbows and then the other time it's like walking on a cloud 9. So many things can happen, all I can do - or we can do - is to keep our composure, all the time. Thats been said, I'm not a composed person so it's hell of a journey for me AND it's not even a year yet haha. I love my husband. I love our relationship even more even if it's not a perfect one
Anyway...
I just entered my second trimester, Alhamdulillah. Yep, there's a bun in the oven. Still new but since there's not many people read my blog, Im comfortable letting out the news here. I think I'm gonna wait a little longer to let more people notice that I'm pregnant bcs there are still risks. Pray for our well-being. P/S: I had a bad morning sickness.
I think that's it for the update? I easily get tired nowadays. Uh.

#72 Hustling
Assalamualaikum. Hi.
Remember I said 2018's gonna be hectic? Well, I'm not wrong. As I much as I want to enjoy this whole thing, it worn me out a little bit, I'm not gonna lie.
Anyway, I'm engaged since February this year and August marks the first anniversary of me, working. Gosh, what a turbulence months. A fatal accident happened at site, one of my colleagues passed away because of it, leaving 3 children and his wife behind. The aftermath is still getting us emotionally and physically impaired. I know I do. Apart from it, I'm preparing for my wedding, which is also something dreadful. How to juggle between your personal and working life? I-don't-even-have-a-clue-honestly.
I'm not gonna talk about my job because to be frank, I'm not into it at the moment.
How is it that I just knew this guy for a month and then we decided to take our relationship to the next step. We didn't start off as friends, we just hit it off, I'm not kidding.
9 Oct 17 - I met him. Also my first day working at the same place as him.
25 Oct 17 - We started texting.
Mid November - He said he wanted more than just a couple, so he asked to meet my parents.
10 Dec 17 - He met Ibu and Ayah.
Mid December - I met his family and extended family members.
17 Feb 18 - We got engaged, Alhamdulillah.
InsyaAllah in August we're gonna tie the knot.
I still remember in 2016, I thought to myself over and over again #misi2tahun. Then 2 years later, here I am haha. Preparing for a wedding is a hassle but you're gotta hustle through it. Pray for me.
